Rt. Honorable Mr. Vice President, Your Excellences, Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my pleasure to welcome you all here tonight. I would like to thank you all for joining me to celebrate the 93rd National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a day of Pride to remember, when King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud united the Kingdom on 23rd September in 1932 and put the foundation of one of the fastest growing economies of the world.
Today the Kingdom is witnessing a glorious era under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-aziz and His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, the Crowne Prince and Prime Minister. The Vision 2030 marks the beginning of a new phase of development and hard work for future progress as well as the pursuit of everything in the interest of the country.
I would also like to emphasize the strong bilateral relations that the Kingdom and Nepal have been enjoying since 1977. The Kingdom is cooperating on sectors like human resources, trade and economy of Nepal. It has provided more than 150 million US Dollars assistance through the Saudi Fund for Development in hydroelectricity, Irrigation and basic infrastructure projects. Likewise, starting from this year, 106 scholarships are reserved for the Nepali students each year to study in the Kingdom. More than 500 thousand Nepali people are working in the Kingdom in various occupations who contribute significantly in the economy of Nepal.
Your Excellences, ladies and gentlemen,
We hope to extend this mutual support and cooperation to Nepal in various other sectors in the days to come.
I would like to thank all of you again for giving your time to celebrate this happy moment with us. Thank you!
-Mr. Saad Abuhaimed, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nepal
